Work study is financial aid funding a student can earn through employment either on-campus or off-campus. Must apply for financial aid to be eligible for work study.

Things to know about Work Study

  • Funding may change at any time due to eligibility changes or funding availability.
  • Wage is dependent on position type and will be determined after receiving a completed work study referral.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits (must be applicable towards the program) to be eligible.
  • Cannot work more than 19 hours per week.
  • Working during the break period requires specific requirements to be met and can be found on the work study referral form.

Types of Work Study offered at Âé¶¹´«Ã½

Federal Work Study (FWS)

  • On-campus positions available throughout the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ campus.
  • Available to non-residents of Washington State.

State Work Study (SWS)

  • On-campus positions available throughout the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ campus.
  • Must be eligible for state funding.
  • Position must relate to program of study.

Off-Campus Work Study (State)

  • Must be eligible for state funding.
  • Position must relate to program of study.
  • Student is hired through the employer and not Âé¶¹´«Ã½.
  • Employer must be approved as an off-campus SWS employer (contract and job description must be submitted annually).
